Generation of computer
1st Generation (1940-1956)
- 1st Generation computer used Vacuum tube for electricity & magnetic drum is used for storage data
- The size of the compute is very big
- more heat generated
- ENIAC & UNIVAC are the Example of 1st generation computer .

Vacuum tube
Magnetic Drum
ENIAC
2nd Generation ( 1956-1963 )
- In Second Generation of computer replace the vacuum tube and used Transistor for electricity
- less heat generated.
- faster than first generation of computer
- COBOL & FORTRAN are language used by in this generation computer.

3 Generation (1964-1971)
- 3 rd Generation computer mainly based on IC (integrity cir cute )
- less heat generated than 1st and 2nd generation
- punch card is used for printing

- Microprocessor based on
- very fast
- less heat generated
- no ac requirement
- high label language supported
5th Generation (1970--present day)
- VLIC based
Artificial Intelligence supported
